Why do people put up with unbiblical power trips?

why do all Catholics and most protestants play this power trip? The bible says all believers are the clergy all believers can do things the clergy can do so why do christians put up with denominations that play that unbiblical power trip dont you know you are the clergy every single one of use christians have the same power as they do
